| You've added some youth in Rask and Zubov...my goaltender needs a change of scenery for sure. Spezza could also use a change of scenery as his morale is low too. I was really hoping Zherdev would fit in but he hasn't impressed any of the coaches and Colaiacovo was an extra piece. Naslund will bring some leadership to your squad as well. | |

| I seriously doubt it looking at the names. I encourage someone with a little more time to dig deeper, I'll try after breakfast but probably won't have time. Maybe if I look at stats though I'll find it IS fair. | |

| James, at first look you may think this is an unfair trade but based on the players' stats it does work out, compile that with the morale rating for a few of these players and it's a win-win for both teams. Zubov is a point a game player for my team but has to play on the 3rd line behind Backstrom and Staal. Rask is young and ready but his morale is way low and it appears a change of scenery is over due. Ward is on the downswing of his career but still capable of logging some minutes. But his best days could be far behind, it's a case of the Flyers needing a replacement for an aging netminder. Zherdev never worked out here, Draploff was a former Cane and I hated to deal him away but the numbers favour Zherdev for sure. The throw-ins are Colaiacovo and Naslund to offset Erat coming to Carolina. Comparisons: Spezza - 28 pts in 41 gms (25 yrs old) plays 1st line minutes Zubov - 24 pts in 40 gms (23 yrs old) plays 3rd line minutes Draploff - 15 pts in 41 gms (21 yrs old) Zherdev - 15 pts in 39 gms (25 yrs old) Rask - 60 OV (23 yrs old and can rerate) Ward - 65 OV (26 yrs old and can not rerate) Erat - 30 pts in 41 gms (29 yrs old) Naslund - 25 pts in 40 gms (37 yrs old and strong LD) Colaiacovo - 12 pts in 40 gms (25 yrs old) If you base your decision on stats or staright up it works out fair for both teams. But maybe I am seeing this as a chance to move players unhappy in their current role... | |
