| To St.Louis: Car 2nd 2012 Car 2nd 2013 Mason Raymond
To Carolina: Marian Gaborik
I was in talks with another team before regarding Gaborik, and didn't feel the deal was enough to move Gaborik. This time though, with camping Raymond, the Blues will look very nice for a new manager.
Thanks Lenny! | |

| Carolina Agrees. Adding a player of Gaborik's quality was a top priority for the Hurricanes and we are pleased to be able to come to an agreement. | |

| A good camp would put him pretty close to Gaborik. They're not really far off, Raymond is 3 years younger. Also DI was a big factor in this decision, but the fact that Raymond can be sent to a sniper camp and have a scoring rating only 2 under Gaborik's is what sealed it for me for St.Louis. | |

| the trade was negotiated with one of the best GM's in the NASHL, let alone the commissioner...his job was to do what's best for the St.Louis Blues and attempt to bring in a GM that finds this team appealing. The difference between Raymond and Gaborik is age and the fact Raymond can be camped, Gaborik is going to cost me a huge contract and a UFA resign. | |
